Mars Art by Kees Veenenbos
Kees Veenenbos of the Netherlands started in the spring of 2001 to render landscapes of Mars with the help of the data of the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) , one of the instruments of the Mars Global Surveyor. The MOLA measured with about 600 million radar pulses the elevations of our neighbour planet. His visualizations show us an ancient with water and under snowy and icy conditions as well a today's Mars. The probability of large quantities of water gives us an idea how Mars might have looked a mere 3,5 billion years ago. Kees Veenenbos makes also animations of Mars.
