University of Michigan Analog Rover Projects
The Michigan Mars Rover Team is a student research group with a mission to develop manned ground vehicles for planetary exploration. The university students have already demonstrated an Analog rover at the Mars Desert Research Station, and are working on follow-on designs.
The team's first manned Mars
rover prototype "Everest" is based on an Army FMTV platform and was
tested at the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah. Current status of
that team is unknown, but activity was seen at their web site up
to 2005.
